“I think I became an artist once I could reasonably control a pencil. I’ve always had this need to capture the world as I saw it. To recreate it with an infusion of color and connect it to ideas. As my skills developed and expanded through adolescence and my years at art school, my work has become a communication. Its a sharing of a perspective, an invitation into another world or simply a welcome moment of beauty. I try to keep that idea in focus in all of my work. I think my job, as an artist, as an illustrator, as a designer, is to make connections.” 

Tyler grew up in the rural mountains of Tioga county, Pennsylvania before relocating to Philadelphia to attend Tyler School of Art, where he received a BFA. He currently resides with his family, chases around a toddler and makes art in Glenside, Pennsylvania.
